abouT3-R CONSULTING

A COMMUNITY-CENTERED CONSULTING FIRM

3-R Consulting is a community-centered consulting firm incorporating the principles of the 3Rs (Relationships + Resources = Results) to transform communities.

The inspiration for 3-R Consulting came to Alicia Collins, founder and CEO, after college in 1995, while she was working in unappreciated neighborhoods representing the City of Indianapolis. The realization happened immediately that she knew nothing about community change and what galvanizes people to work collectively to accomplish goals. The sage wisdom she gained from the neighborhoods and seasoned grassroots leaders grounded her and gifted her with life-long relationships that she treasures to this day.

Society projects a narrative that programs and services transform lives, but it’s the self-determination of humans and relationships with others collectively taking action that transforms communities long term. Pivoting from programs to investing in people has become the heart of 3-R Consulting's work. The firm has been fortunate to benefit from the leadership and self-development trainings and offerings for residents. The principles of the 3Rs from the Resident Leadership Facilitation curriculum of the Annie E. Casey Foundation state that all humans and organizations can improve their effectiveness and maximize their ability through the equation of trusted Relationships + aligned Resources that lead to desired Results

You, your organization, program, or event can be successful if you identify your desired result upfront. To ensure the achieved result, your relationships and resources must align and be intentional. In cooperation with peer resident consultants grounded in the principles and practices of resident leadership development, 3-R consulting has expanded the curriculum and facilitated and trained emerging leaders with the goal of launching a grassroots leader’s pipeline. The ultimate goal of 3-R Consulting is to ensure that resident leaders and grassroots organizations have equitable pathways to manifest greater impact and foster change.
